Just a few short years ago, GCOG’s annual Fall Festival was a small community outreach of just a few hundred people, most of whom already attended our church. Fast forward to last year when over 2,500 people from our community and the surrounding areas showed up to get a taste of how God’s people have a good time. More importantly, hundreds of people made decisions to follow Christ at the conclusion of Fall Festival.
And here is where you come in. We need help in every area. This event is free to the community, so we depend on the hard work and dedication of volunteers to make it happen. And trust me, when you see a child with paint on her face and love in her heart raise her hand to accept Jesus, it will all be worthwhile!
Below is a list of just some the things that you can be a part of:
Parking Crew (Benefit: You will get a really cool vest and a walkie-talkie…FYI: This would be my choice)
Construction Crew and Electrical Crew (Putting together stage and stations, lighting, etc…Benefit: Other than making sure everything is running smoothly, by the time the Festival starts, most of your work is done—more time to eat boiled peanuts)
Clean-up/Tear down Crew (This is one of the most crucial yet overlooked parts of Fall Festival…Benefit: You get to take home leftover carnival food…yum!)
Fun Facilitators (i.e. Booth Operators…You’re the one that knocks down the bottles even when the kid missed it by a mile…Benefit: Surrounded by candy!)
Food Prep and Serving Crew (Makes sure that drinks are flowing and lines are moving…Benefit: Taste testing!)
And many more!
As you can see, you’re help is crucial to the success of GCOG’s Fall Festival 2011. If you see a “crew” that you’d like to be a part of, simply click here or contact the church office at 352-371-9646, and someone will connect you with the right person for your area.
Thanks again for your willingness to get involved. I pray God bless you in return for your faithfulness! See you Sunday!
